I explore “The Sound of the Maternal” in a performative lecture,narrating my own caregiving path, being a parent to my father with a chronic illness, where it all began in Goa!!
Over the lecture I traced the journey of my mother’s building of her home for dance in Noida and then finally the story of familial lineage of music and migration of my late grandmother Tripti (Bhaduri) Bagchi from East Pakistan (Bangladesh now) to India in 1947. Bhaduri Bari written by Sunanda Lahiri’s Dida is the only documentation left of our family which became a part of this lecture
